Suspect arrested

YOUNGSTOWN

A detective who had investigated a burglary at a home on Mumford Circle on the East Side on Sunday was able to make an arrest in the case Friday, thanks to a video of the burglary and his ability to spot the suspect driving down the street.

Marcus Clark, 33, of Hunter Street was taken to the Mahoning County Adult Justice Center, charged with burglary after Det. Sgt. Carl Davis spotted Clark and his car at the corner of Glenwood Avenue and Canfield Road at 2:12 p.m. Friday.

The detective recognized Clark and the car from a video of the July 20 burglary, which showed a man in wire-rimmed glasses and wearing an arm cast break in through the rear patio door and leave through the front carrying a small item. The video showed the car he was driving.

Clark was arrested after he walked into the Family Dollar on Glenwood Avenue. He later admitted the burglary.
