Youngstown man cited for disorderly conduct

YOUNGSTOWN

A 31-year-old man was cited for disorderly conduct at a South Side park early Thursday evening after police said he would not stop swearing and was fighting people he was playing basketball with.

Police were called to a playground at Glenwood and Sherwood avenues about 7:40 p.m. by an off duty Mahoning County sheriff deputy, who said Toriano S. Haines of Youngstown was fighting with other players he was playing basketball with and swearing. Haines would not stop swearing even after the deputy identified himself as being in law enforcement, reports said.

After Haines was given his citation, reports said he told police he was a sovereign citizen and knew his rights under the law. He was given a court date for his citation.
