Woman's car plows into building

YOUNGSTOWN

A woman was cited for driving under suspension after police say a car she was trying to move instead plowed into an East Side apartment building about 4:15 a.m. today.

Reports said officers arrived at 909 Plazaview Court and saw a car inside a building. Police found the driver, Debra J. Hickson, 43, of Youngstown, who told officers she was trying to move the car to a different parking spot when her slipper came off her foot, causing her to hit the gas peddle hard and accelerate.

Dickson declined treatment by paramedics, reports said. A records check showed she has a suspended license, reports said. Firefighters secured the building, reports said.
