Police arrested two people on drug charges after a North Side traffic stop.
Reports said an officer spotted a car parked for some time in the parking lot of an Elm Street store about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday with a woman inside and when a man came out of the store and got in the car, the car left the store and made an improper turn at Bissell Avenue and Elm Street and the officer pulled it over.
Reports said the woman, Alexis Sarra, 19, of Boardman, who was also the driver, appeared very nervous and her pants were unzipped, which sometimes is a sign that someone is stuffing drugs in them. She was asked to get out of the car and when she did, officers asked her if she had anything on her, reports said.
Reports said Sarra took a bag of pills out of her pocket and then reached in her bra and pulled out a bag of suspected marijuana
Officers then asked Sarra if she had anything else and she pulled out two bags of pills from her bra also, reports said. There were a total of 22 pills inside those bags.
Sarra gave officers permission to search the car and they found a bag of suspected heroin near where the passenger was sitting and some empty plastic bags, reports said. The passenger, Isael Roman, 27, of Youngstown, was arrested on charges of possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Sarra was arrested on charges of possession of drugs, possession of marijuana and possession of dangerous drugs.
Both were taken to the Mahoning County jail. They are expected to be arraigned in municipal court today.
