Warren house fire leaves family homeless

A closet fire at a house this morning on Glenwood Street Northeast in Warren has left a family of four homeless.

Faith Blaylock and her three children escaped the 2:35 a.m. fire, which started in the upstairs closet in Blaylock’s room, said Ken Nussle, Warren fire chief.

Blaylock got herself and her children out of the house safely before firefighters arrived. The fire caused heavy fire damage to the bedroom where it started, plus smoke and heat damage to the other parts of the second floor. Estimated cost of the damage is $30,000 to the house and $15,000 to the contents.

No foul play is suspected, but investigators have not determined a cause.
