Despite recalls, GM earns $1.4 B
YOUNGSTOWN
General Motors has spent 1.2 billion in recall related costs, yet still managed to post earnings of $1.4 billion in the second quarter.
Because of the recalls, earnings are down significantly from the second quarter of 2013 when GM had earnings of $2.3 billion. The company also announced for the quarter it has spent $200 million in efforts to restructure the company.
The stock price of GM is currently $37.41 on the New York Stock Exchange.
