CATCHING BUGS

When: Sunday, 2 p.m.

What: Explore the world of insects through catch and release. Join our staff for a guided bug-catching session on the preserve. Bring your favorite bug net and jars or borrow ours.

BREEZY HILL FARM

When: Sunday, 2-4 p.m.

What: Mindy and Phil Bartholomae from Breezy Hill Farm in Homeworth will present a program about their farm and its sustainable, organic produce that can be found in various farmers markets and restaurants. Samples will be available for tasting.

Where: Huston-Brumbaugh Nature Center Visitors Center.

What: This course meets the standards set by Ohio Department of Health as Level II Certification in food protection.

What: Join Trumbull County master gardener volunteers for free evening class.

BOTANICAL DINNERS at the Garden Cafe

What: Enjoy a dining experience overlooking Lake Glacier while discovering a little bit about the featured plant of the evening: corn.

Pesto & Tomato Fest

When: Wednesday, 5:30–7:30 p.m.

What: Karres Cvetkovich will share the fine points of making pesto. All ingredients including imported cheese, organic basil and garlic will be supplied, and all will go home with a gift bag of the ingredients, plus the know-how. We will sample and enjoy the fragrant pasta al pesto accompanied by summer tomato salad with vinaigrette.
