Tabernacle church salutes students in summer CDF program
YOUNGSTOWN — Tabernacle Baptist Church, 707 Arlington St., will have a celebration finale of its Children’s Defense Fund Summer Freedom School Program from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday.
The event will highlight the program’s student scholars and accomplishments achieved during their enrollment in the nationally acclaimed literacy-based summer enrichment program.
State Sen. Joe Schiavoni of Boardman, D-33rd, and Youngstown Mayor John McNally are scheduled to speak.
Scholar will receive books to start their own library. Also recognized will be program supporters, staff and volunteers.
