Phone outage hits northern Mercer County


MERCER, Pa.

The Mercer County Department of Public Safety has been notified of a phone outage in northern Mercer County that is affecting the Jamestown area. The outage is affecting landline customers only. Cell phone users can still dial 9-1-1 as normal to report emergencies. Any customer that is unable to dial 9-1-1 can go to the Jamestown Fire Department to report any emergencies. The fire department will be staffed until the phone outage is resolved. Windstream is aware of the issue and is working to resolve the matter as quickly as possible. Currently there is no timetable for the problem to be corrected.
