Warren police make arrest in shooting death, burglary


WARREN

Police arrested Michael Settle, 26, of Sherman Avenue in Niles Monday in the April 7 shooting death of James R. Levels, 64, of Beal Street Northwest.

Police arrested Settle at the Sherman Avenue address and booked him into the Trumbull County jail, where he will await a Tuesday-morning arrignment hearing in Warren Municipal Court.

Police say additional charges may be forthcoming in the case.

A 48-year-old woman told police two males broke into her house on South Street at 11:25 p.m. and were attempting to rob her when the suspects shot her and Levels.

Warren Municipal Court also issued an arrest warrant Monday for Denzil Chaney, 23, of Fifth Street Southwest and Bock Street Southeast, charging him with aggravated burglary for an incident on Thursday.

He’s accused of holding a gun to a woman’s head in the driveway of her home on George Place Southwest.
