Youngstown school board mulls future of administration building

YOUNGSTOWN — City school board members are mulling options for what to do with the district administration building: keep it as is, use half and sell or lease the rest or sell or lease the whole thing.

“We have a lot of options,” said Michael Murphy, the chairman of the school board’s Finance and Business Committee.

A report last month from Youngstown architect Paul J. Ricciuti estimated that the building at the corner of West Wood Street and Wick Avenue costs the district about $540,000 annually including custodial service, utilities and repairs.

“This is not considered a viable option,” the report says.
