Man wanted in Pittsburgh on rape charges arrested by U.S. Marshals

A man wanted on a 20-count rape indictment, who was on the Pennsylvania State Police Top 10 Most Wanted list, was arrested Wednesday at a house at 836 Kenilworth Ave. SE.

Members of the U.S. Marshals Violent Fugitives Task Force arrested Shawn K. Fake, 45, at 10:45 a.m. after U.S. Marshals were alerted by Pennsylvania authorities that he might be in the Warren area.

Fake had been staying at the Youngstown Rescue Mission and then was kicked out of the Warren Family Mission before going to the Kenilworth address, said Tim Parana, a Warren patrolman who is with the task force.

Fake is wanted in Pittsburgh on 20 charges, including multiple counts of forcible rape, multiple counts of rape of a person under age 13, multiple counts of rape of a person under age 16 and multiple counts of forcible compulsion rape. His purported offenses occurred in York, Pa., according to the Most Wanted website.

He faces a possible life prison sentence if convicted of the charges, which relate to his own children. He was wanted since 2011.

Fake appeared in Warren Municipal Court shortly after his arrest and was extradited and returned to Pennsylvania.
