What: Vinegars are both food and medicine, easy to use and can be made with herbs and fruits. Pam Baytos will show you how to make two different vinegars, what to use them for, then provide samples.

Herb garden afternoon
When: Sunday, 2-4 p.m.
What: The herbs should be in full force in July. Come and relax this afternoon while we pick, taste and make a craft with the herbs from our Yost Osborn Herb Garden. Registration required; limited to 20 people age 12 and up.

Plant Parts & Patterns: Flowering Plants
When: Tuesday, 11 a.m.–12:30 p.m.
What: Enjoy a midmorning stroll through the Gardens as you learn the basics of botany and patterns of plant families. Return to Davis Center for seasonal lunch, plus dessert.

BOTANICAL DINNERS at Garden Caf : Cherries

What: Enjoy dining overlooking Lake Glacier while discovering a little bit about cherries. Briefly gather and sip on the specialty drink to find out why they are so special.

Celebrate Youngstown Steel at the Gardens
When: Wednesday, 6-8 p.m.
What: The steel sculptures in this Outdoor Gallery exhibit by artist Tony Armeni celebrate Youngstown’s spirit of invention. Based on formal design principles, the sculptures consist mainly of parts that Armeni collects from local fabrication shops.
