YSU's opener at Illinois set for noon

YOUNGSTOWN — The Youngstown State football team's season opener against Illinois at Memorial Stadium in Champaign, Ill., will begin at noon on Saturday, Aug. 30.

The contest will be televised on the Big Ten Network and carried on NewsRadio 570 WKBN.

It will bethe the seventh time since 2006 that YSU has visited a Big Ten foe. The contest is first of two games in the state of Illinois for the Penguins. The Penguins visit Missouri Valley Football Conference member Illinois State in November.

YSU Eric Wolford was an assistant coach with Illinois for two seasons (2007-08).
