Campbelll police charge man with drug, traffic offenses

CAMPBELL

Police confiscated 30 grams of marijuana from a 37-year-old Boardman man during a Monday evening traffic stop.

Robert N. Dunleavy of Meadowbrook Avenue is set to answer to charges of possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia, along with driving under suspension and driving an unsafe vehicle, today in Campbell Municipal Court.

Police stopped Dunleavy shortly before 6:30 p.m. Monday on Coitsville Road after noticing a piece of metal hanging from the bottom of his car and scraping on the ground, causing sparks. Moving closer, the officer smelled the strong scent of unburnt marijuana coming from the car.

Dunleavy was found to have a suspended driver's license, due to a child support suspension, and was arrested. He admitted to having the two plastic bags of marijuana.

Dunleavy was released on his $5,750 bond.
