Fitch defeats Poland

The Austintown Fitch girls basketball team defeated Poland Jan. 23 at Poland with a score of 65-28. Scoring for Fitch were Aaliyah Sadler (6), Sarah Obradovich (4), Megan Sefcik (23), Cassie Custer (15), Maura Bianco (2), Alysoun Mukaabya (4), Natalie Lynn (2) and Allexis Sallee (9).

Austintown victory comes with perfect 300

The Austintown Fitch bowling teams recently played against Niles McKinley in boys and girls matches. Both teams earned victory with a scores of 2734-2516 (boys) and 2332-1935 (girls).

Boys scores were Kyle Condrick - (300)-219-519, Matt Cox - 214-218-432, Dakota Gorgie - 213-213-426, Kyle Sharisky - 226-199-425 and Zach Barber - 199-195-394. Baker Games socres were 201-159-178. This is Condrick’s second 300 in his bowling career.

Girls scores were Lynnette Seabacher - 279-203-482, Katie Viglio - 211-197-408, Laura Wilson - 155-170-325, Brittany Veltri - 156-138-294, Jessica Halas - 162 and Sydney Danko - 115. Baker Games scores were 189-194-163.

Boys youth basketball tournament to be in February

The Austintown Boys’ Basketball Booster Club is hosting its annual fourth-, fifth- and sixth-grade boys youth basketball tournament on Feb. 15, 16, 22 and 23. There is a four-game guarantee. Visit www.austintownbasketball.com for registration details.

It’s winter sports season. Neighbors wants to be there every step of the way. If you’re a winter sports coach or the parent of an athlete, we need you help. In order to get teams and players the recognition they deserve, we want to showcase them in our pages. We can only do that if you commit to sending us game reports and photos each week. If you send it, it will get in.
