Californians urged to not waste water amid drought

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Gov. Jerry Brown is urging residents of drought-stricken Californian to not waste water in the bathroom.

Brown says people shouldn’t flush more than necessary or shower too long, and to turn off the water while shaving or brushing teeth.

Brown spoke today before a closed-door meeting with Southern California water agency officials in Los Angeles.

A storm system is moving through the northern part of the withered state, but rainfall amounts have been tiny. Snow is falling in the Sierra Nevada, however.
