Tuesday, January 28, 2014

CAMPBELL — Bond was set at $500,000 in Campbell Municipal Court for Jessica Gomez, the 30-year-old city woman police have accused of stabbing her sisters.

Gomez is charged with two counts of felonious assault. Her arraignment was today. She is scheduled to appear again in municipal court Feb. 4.

Late Friday, police reported to a Blackburn Street home after one of Gomez’s sisters called, claiming she had been stabbed.

According to the report, police found the home in shambles, with blood in the kitchen and living room. No one was in the home, however. Officers later received a call from paramedics who were treating one of Gomez’s sisters, who also lives in Campbell, for stab wounds.

The other sister, another Campbell resident, was treated at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown for similar injuries.

Police then arrested Gomez at 12:30 p.m. Saturday. Gomez also had bruising and cuts on her body, and she told police she had been defending herself from attacks by her sisters.
