CHAMBERSBURG, Pa.

Authorities say a 16-year-old boy stole a car and a gun and then fired at a state trooper who stopped him on a Pennsylvania interstate.

State police say Sean Patrick Sellers, of Mifflinburg, is being charged as an adult after he purportedly fired once at Trooper Michael Quinn about 7 a.m. Sunday on Interstate 81 near Chambersburg, about 50 miles southwest of Harrisburg. The trooper fired back, but no one was injured.

Sellers is waiting to be arraigned, and it wasn’t immediately clear if he had an attorney.

Police say Sellers fired once with a .22-caliber pistol after Quinn stopped the car.

Police say the shooting is not related to a road-rage incident 15 miles farther south on I-81 on Jan. 4 that left a 28-year-old Maine man dead.
