Ohio man charged with possessing explosive devices

Friday, January 24, 2014

COLUMBUS (AP) — A central Ohio man is facing charges after sheriff’s deputies say they found explosive devices and a loaded firearm at his home.

Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O’Brien says deputies had gone to the house in Columbus on Jan. 15 to evict 55-year-old Mark A. Kulis. O’Brien said the officers found six improvised explosive devices, bomb-making materials, several firearms and ammunition in the home.

A grand jury indicted Kulis today on charges of criminal possession of an explosive device and carrying a concealed weapon. No attorney is listed for him in court records.

O’Brien says if convicted of the charges, Kulis could be sentenced to more than 25 years in prison.

Kulis is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday.
