Tuesday, January 21, 2014

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) — Officials at Purdue University in Indiana say there is no ongoing threat on campus after a shooting was reported in a classroom building.

A Twitter post from the university says people may resume normal activities on the campus.

Purdue spokesman Greg McClure tells The Associated Press that police haven't released information about possible injuries. The report of shots fired came in around noon today at the electrical engineering building on the school's campus in West Lafayette.

McClure says police have a person in custody but no details are available.

Television footage shows several law enforcement vehicles around the building on the campus about 60 miles northwest of Indianapolis.
