Boeing, Etihad target aviation biofuels
Aircraft maker Boeing Co., Etihad Airways, the oil company Total and others say they will work together on a program to develop an aviation biofuel industry in the United Arab Emirates.
Boeing said in a news release Sunday that the program will involve research and development and investments in production of fuels derived from plants that can power aircraft.
Etihad is based in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates.
East Timor demands return of documents
CANBERRA, AUSTRALIA
East Timor said it will ask an international court in the Netherlands today to order Australia to return documents seized by the Australian secret service relating to a legal dispute over oil and gas revenue-sharing between the two countries.
East Timorese Minister of State Agio Pereira said the documents related to East Timor’s challenge to the validity of a bilateral treaty struck with Australia in 2006 over sharing seabed oil and gas reserves between the countries worth billions of dollars.
