PANDA lock-in is night of fun

Every year, the Boardman Center and Boardman Glenwood Middle School PANDA groups get together for a lock-in. This year, the sixth annual lock-in was offered at Boardman Center Middle School on Jan. 24.

The staff put on many skits such as “Turn Around” and “True Colors.” The students were then split into “family groups.” In the groups, the students talked about the skits and what they meant.

Both students and staff enjoyed the different activities planned at the lock-in.

“I loved the bridge skit,” BCMS sixth-grader Sarah Queen said.

The bridge skit is a funny story during which a reporter without a story contemplates jumping off of a bridge. Gradually, more people come to the bridge and with tales of missing items, such as Victoria with no secret, Harry Potter with no wand and more. By the end of the skit, the reporter has an amusing story.

The group leaders also led some energizers, such as “Hey, Burrito!” and “Boom Chick-A-Boom”.

PANDA stands for Preventing and Neutralizing Drug and Alcohol Abuse. All students interested in joining their school’s PANDA Clubs are always welcome.
