Canfield swim team defeats Jefferson

The Canfield High School swim team defeated Jefferson at a dual-meet Jan. 23 at YSU. The girls’ final score was 143-29 and their record is 9-1.

Quadruple first place winners included Sarah Heaven (200-yard medley relay, 50-yard freestyle, 500-yard freestyle, 400-yard freestyle relay) and Olivia Williamson (200-yard individual medley, 100-yard butterfly, 200-yard free relay, 400-yard freestyle relay).

Triple first place winners included Maggie Beistel (200-yard medley relay, 100-yard backstroke, 400-yard freestyle relay), Briana O’Malley (200-yard medley relay, 100-yard freestyle, 400-yard freestyle relay) and Mallory Allen (200-yard freestyle, 200-yard free relay, 100-yard breaststroke).

Double first place winners included Theresa Mikolay (200-yard medley relay, 200-yard free relay). Rachel Williams placed first in the 200-yard free relay.

The boys’ final score was 140-27 and their record is 10-0.

Drew Bennett was a quadruple first place winner in the 200-yard medley relay, 100-yard freestyle, 200-yard free relay and 100-yard breaststroke events.

Triple time first place winners included Daniel Bogan (200-yard medley relay, 50-yard freestyle, 200-yard free relay), Michael DiDomenico (200-yard medley relay, 200-yard free relay, 400-yard free relay), Connor Brady (200-yard individual medley, 500-yard freestyle, 400-yard free relay) and Kyle Anderson (100-yard butterfly, 100-yard backstoke, 400-yard free relay).

Matthew Bogan was a double first place winner in the 200-yard freestyle and 400-yard free relay events. Other first place winners included Nick Palermo (200-yard medley relay), and Adam Weiss (200-yard free relay).
