Boardman man jailed on child endangering charge

Boardman police arrested a 31-year-old Boardman man Thursday on child endangering and domestic violence warrants.
Vincent Atwood of Erie Street is now in the Mahoning County jail until his court appearance on Tuesday.
On Feb. 26, Boardman police received a call from a counselor at Boardman Center Middle School for the report of an abused 12-year-old girl.
The girl had several bruises on her legs and hands. The injuries were so severe that the girl was limping at school, according to a police report.
The girl told police Atwood hit her with a belt for an hour on Feb. 25.
Atwood has a criminal history of domestic violence charges.
