MERCER, PA.

William Zuschlag, 22, of Greenville was killed in a two-car crash at 3:15 p.m. Wednesday on W. Jamestown Road at the intersection with Halfway Road in Greene Township.

The driver and passenger in the second car, George Davis Jr., 64, and Diane Davis, 53, both of Linesville, Pa., suffered moderate and minor injuries, respectively. They were taken to Greenville Hospital for treatment.

None of the people involved in the crash were wearing seat belts.

Pennsylvania State Police said Zuschlag, who was pronounced dead at the scene by the Mercer County coroner, was going south on W. Jamestown when he pulled into the northbound lane to pass another southbound vehicle and into the path of a northbound vehicle. When he tried to avoid the northbound vehicle he lost control, spun around 180 degrees and was struck in the rear by the Davis vehicle, also traveling north.

Zuschlag’s vehicle went off the east side of W. Jamestown and stopped facing north. Davis’ vehicle came to rest facing southeast on the road.
