Girard officials deciding on police officer discipline
GIRARD
The city is deciding on discipline against a police officer whose residence was the site of teenage drinking parties.
Officer Larry Neely met with city and union representatives this morning for a pre-disciplinary hearing.
Police Chief Jeff Palmer said both sides presented their recommendations, but he would not say what his was, adding that he wanted to wait until the matter is settled.
He said city officials and the city’s legal counsel will meet this week.
Mayor Jim Melfi has the ultimate say on discipline, Palmer said.
