Three pleaded not guilty to charges in girl’s death

Two men and one woman accused of having a connection to the death of an 18-year-old woman pleaded not guilty Tuesday to their charges in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court.

The woman, Erin Trell, died in September 2013 from an apparent drug overdose on multiple drugs including cocaine, Xanax and marijuana.

Ruben Best, 20, of Warren pleaded not guilty to the charges of involuntary manslaughter, tampering with evidence, trafficking in drugs and trafficking drugs containing cocaine. He asked the judge for court appointed counsel.

Magistrate Judge Timothy G. Welsh placed his bond at $125,000 cash or surety.

Gary Hartman, 24, no given address, pleaded not guilty to the charges of involuntary manslaughter, corrupting a minor with drugs and two counts of trafficking in drugs. He also asked the judge for court appointed counsel and his bond was also placed at $125,000.

Hartman and Best are accused of supplying the drugs that consequently killed Trell.

Marijo Mazon is accused of giving her and a minor the drugs. Mazon, 46, of Boardman pleaded not guilty to trafficking in drugs and corrupting another with drugs. She also asked the judge for court appointed counsel and her bond was placed at $70,000.
