Fire destroys vacant home in Brookfield

Fire crews from Brookfield Township, Vienna and Hubbard responded to a fire at a vacant house early today.

Upon their arrival shortly after 5:30 a.m., crews found the house — located at 7760 Stewart Sharon Road — fully engulfed in flames. The house had been abandoned a few weeks ago, Brookfield Township fire officials said, and was a total loss. No one was injured in the fire.

The fire remains under investigation.
