Teenager stabbed after basketball game

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. (AP) — Authorities say a teenager is being sought in a stabbing that seriously injured a high school student after a basketball game.

Police in Luzerne County say officers were sent to Wilkes-Barre General Hospital shortly after 9:30 p.m. Wednesday after a stabbing victim was reported there.

Officers were told that the youth was stabbed several times in a fight near Wilkes-Barre Area GAR High School.

The victim was reported in serious condition and later flown to the trauma center at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center.

Police said a 17-year-old suspect is being sought and will be charged with aggravated assault.
