YSU and city police respond to shooting near campus

The YSU Police Department is advising the University Community of a shooting which occurred near campus today.

At 1 p.m. Youngstown Police received a call of a shooting at 224 West Wood St, which is a private apartment complex. YSU Police officers along with Youngstown city responded. The suspect was immediately apprehended by YSU officers at the WRTA Station located in downtown Youngstown. The condition of the victim is unknown at this time. There is no continuing threat to campus at this time. Neither the victim nor the suspect are YSU Students.
