NOAS offering classes for those who want to adopt, foster

Staff report

WARREN

Northeast Ohio Adoption Services will offer Ohio couples or singles free Adoption/Foster Care Pre-Placement Education classes that begin Feb. 28.

Adults 21 and older who have been considering becoming a foster or adoptive parent are welcome to attend the event to find out more about Ohio children and teens served by the child-welfare system while waiting for the love, stability and happy family life of a permanent home.

The sessions begin Feb. 28 and continue through March 22 at NOAS, 5000 E. Market St., Suite 26. Participants will learn more about the care, commitment and strategies that often are helpful when children need a warm-hearted family to grow up safer and healthier.

Registration deadline for the classes is Thursday. If participants cannot attend a certain session, makeup opportunities are available.

Call John Hostetler at 800-686-6627, ext. 123, to register. An information packet will be mailed, and participants can register to see if adoption or becoming a foster parent is the right choice. NOAS does not charge fees to families for adoption.

NOAS is a private, nonprofit agency for Ohio families who live within 90 minutes of offices in Warren or Chagrin Falls.

Since 1978, NOAS has developed families for more than 1,200 children and teens. Visit www.noas.com for information.
