Poland placed five wrestlers at the Josh Hephner Memorial Tournament at Austintown Fitch High School, with 30 of the top teams from Northeast Ohio in attendance at the largest local high school wrestling tournament of the year.

Poland’s Mike Audi, one of the top ranked wrestlers in the state, was the only local wrestler to place first at the tournament by defeating Fitch’s Camran Rezapourian in a 5-3 victory that advanced Audi’s record to 26-4 for the year as he sets his sights on a return trip to the state tournament in Columbus.

Poland competed with schools from all three divisions and finished ninth overall, with two fourth place finishes by sophomores Trey Ellis and Anthony Audi, a sixth place finish by sophomore Dante Ginnetti and a seventh place finish by junior Bruno Spottleson. Poland will be wrestling at Canfield High School for the East Ohio Wrestling League Tournament.
