Calvin Center to be location for Good Life Festival


The Calvin Center for the Arts in Youngstown (755 Mahoning Ave.) will be the location for the Good Life Festival on Feb. 22 from noon until 2 a.m. the following day.

The day will feature many activites, all dedicated to health and wellness in many forms, including a Zumba Æ party from 12-2 p.m., Piloxing demonstration from 2-2:15 p.m., BelliFit‚Ñ¢ demonstration from 3-3:30 p.m., Kids Zumbatomic Æ/Yoga demonstration from 3:30-4 p.m., Chair Relaxation Yoga demonstration from 4-4:30 p.m., art show, auction and sale from 12-6 p.m. and 8 p.m. until 12 a.m., Sin Pretty Hair by Casey Lancy from 3-7 p.m. (hair extensions for a $5 per extension suggested donation), performances by The Rust Belt Theater Company from 6-8 p.m., band performances from Bernadette Lim, Buffalo Buffalo Buffalo, and Modern Life from 8-11 p.m. and music by DJ Gravity and JQuest from 11 p.m. until 2 a.m.

Throughout the night, there will also be performances by The Tribe of Eos, 3rd Street Belly Dance, Charmaine Evonne and more.

All proceeds will be donated to The Silver Lining Cancer Fund in the name of Charyl L. Grbinick, mother of event organizer Samantha Grbinick, who passed away March 1, 2012 from ovarian cancer. Tickets for the event are a suggested donation of $10.

In years past, Grbinick also organized the Cancer Sucks event, hosted by Z Fitness (April 22, 2012 and June 29, 2013), which raised more than $2500 dollars and over $1000, respectively.
