Akron woman charged with theft from Southern Park Mall store

BOARDMAN — Township police arrested a 45-year-old Akron woman Thursday on a theft charge after personnel at Victoria’s Secret Pink store at the Southern Park Mall accused her of taking several items.

Frankie Dowdell is in Mahoning County Jail. She was arraigned Thursday in Mahoning County Area Court here on the theft charge. There had been a warrant out for her arrest.

Dowdell is accused of taking 35 long-sleeve shirts worth more than $800, two sweatshirts worth $100, and four pairs of yoga pants valued at $200 from the store Jan. 18.

Dowdell has another hearing at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.
