Vindicator seeks charity scramble events

The Vindicator

The Vindicator is seeking charity golf scramble events for possible inclusion in the 2014 Greatest Scramble Challenge — a competition to find the Valley’s best scramble team.

The event is presented in conjunction with Superior Beverage.

The championship started in 2013 with 30 teams competing to be crowned best scramble team in the Valley. Teams qualified for the championship by winning a local charity scramble.

Last year’s winners were: Mark Ferrara, John Doughton Jr., John Doughton III and Greg Powell in the gross division; and Toni Notaro, Tom Korner, Larry McCall and Jill Harmon in the net division.

Your charity scramble event benefits from Greatest Scramble because:

Superior Beverage donates $300 in prizes to your event.

Your event enjoys premium promotion as part of The Vindicator’s successful Greatest Golfer franchise.

Your event draws more players as they seek to get a chance to compete to be the Valley’s Greatest team.

If your charity scramble would like to be one of the 30 events selected to be qualifiers for the Greatest Scramble Challenge, please email vindygreatest@vindy.com.

In the email, please include information about your scramble, including course, cost, history, number of participants and charitable benefit.

This year’s championship is slated for Aug. 18 — the Greatest Week in the Valley that includes the start of the football season, the Panerathon and the fifth annual Greatest Golfer of the Valley tournament presented by Farmers National Bank.
