Bill Coleman, office manager for the Mahoning County Sanitary Engineer’s Office, told the commissioners Thursday that engineering design work is underway and the county is seeking financing to provide public water-supply and sanitary sewer service to the southwestern shore area along Lake Milton, with installation planned for 2016.

The water-supply project is estimated to cost $2.9 million, and the sewer project $4.3 million.

Funding for the projects will be sought from the U.S. Department of Agriculture and possibly from federal Community Development Block Grant money and Ohio Public Works Commission and U.S. and Ohio Environmental Protection Agency funds.
