CAMPBELL

City police made several drug-related arrests in just a few hours Tuesday — all of them resulting from traffic stops.

About 2:15 p.m., police stopped Daisy Morales, 47, of Devitt Avenue in Campbell, for failing to stop at a red light at Coitsville Road and Sixth Street.

As the officer approached the car, Morales, the driver, attempted to switch seats with the passenger, and police placed her under arrest for obstructing official business.

Police also discovered that Morales had been driving under suspension, that she had an active warrant out of the Lorain County Sheriff’s Department, and that she had prescription narcotics on her.

Morales was cited for the traffic offense. She also was charged with possession of drugs and prescription label required, as well as obstructing official business and driving under suspension.

She was transported to the Mahoning County jail, where she will remain until her initial court appearance in Campbell Municipal Court at 9 a.m. Friday.

Shortly after 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, police stopped 21-year-old Jalen Casey, of Richmond Avenue in Youngstown, for speeding on Coitsville Road.

Police noticed a strong odor of burnt marijuana coming from the car, along with an ashtray sitting atop the center console with burnt marijuana cigarettes in it.

Casey was arrested on a charge of possession of drugs and issued a court date in Campbell Municipal Court of 9 a.m. Tuesday.

About 8:10 p.m. Tuesday, police observed a car with several view-obstructing objects hanging from the rearview mirror that was traveling on McCartney Road and pulled over the driver, identified as Aaron Marquise Patton, 22, of West Princeton Avenue in Youngstown.

Police could smell the odor of burnt marijuana coming from the car, and while searching it, found 0.3 grams of suspected marijuana, a small marijuana cigarette and a suspected marijuana glass pipe.

Patton was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, and his passenger, Michael Alexander Williams, 26, of Fairfax Street in Youngstown, was charged with possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.

Both are set to appear in Campbell Municipal Court at 9 a.m. Friday.
