Shootings Wednesday and Friday morning in Warren

Staff report

WARREN

Two men suffered gunshot wounds in separate incidents Wednesday and Friday morning, both going to the hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries.

Kevin A. Putnam, age and address not given, was shot in the arm in a 6:40 a.m. incident Friday in the 1700 block of Oak Street Southwest, said Lt. Jeff Cole, officer in charge at the Warren Police Department.

Cole said he didn’t have other information on the shooting, such as whether Putnam lives at the address where the shooting took place.

A police report was not available because the Warren Police Department records department was closed for the Christmas holiday.

Meanwhile, Paul R. Nelson, 29, of various Warren addresses, was shot during an 8:19 a.m. Wednesday aggravated burglary in the 800 block of Palmyra Road Southwest.

Cole said Nelson suffered nonlife-threatening injuries but said he was not able to discuss any details.

Police radio traffic indicated Nelson was shot in the leg after two males in bandannas and stocking caps broke into the house on Palmyra, and that a dog was also shot.

Nelson was transported to ValleyCare Warren Hospital by family members.
