Woman, 93, dies hours after pickup hits house

LEVITTOWN, Pa. (AP) — Police say an elderly woman died a few hours after a pickup truck slammed into her home on the day after Christmas.

Authorities in Bucks County said the accident happened shortly after 2:30 a.m. today in Bristol Township.

Township police said the red truck fled after hitting the southwest corner of the home, causing heavy damage.

Police said 93-year-old Jenny Russo, a hospice patient, was lying in bed near the point of impact and died a few hours later.

Her son, Ron Russo, told WPVI-TV that the crash left a gaping hole in the wall. He moved his mother into a warmer room next door, but she died shortly afterward.

Police said they are seeking the truck, which will have significant front-end damage and moderate damage to the passengers’ side.
