Hubbard council prepares to vote on AFSCME pact

Monday, December 15, 2014

HUBBARD — City council will vote on whether to accept a three-year contract with workers from the street, water and wastewater treatment departments.

Approximately 30 workers in American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees Local 1256 are covered by the contract and have already voted to accept it.

The contract offers a 3 percent raise the first year, a 2 percent raise the second year, and a 1 percent raise the third year.

Employees’ wages range now from $16 to $21 an hour in all three departments, said Dan Livingston, the city's services director.

Mayor John Darko said the contract also offers opportunities for more money if AFSCME employees obtain additional training and licenses.
