Husted certifies Ohio election results

Friday, December 12, 2014

COLUMBUS (AP) — Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted has certified the results of the state’s 2014 election.

Husted’s office said today that he certified results for races including governor, attorney general, auditor, secretary of state, Congress and Ohio Supreme Court. The action is required by law from the secretary of state, who oversees elections.

Results of the other races and issues that appeared on the Nov. 4 ballot are certified by county election boards.

In a statement, Husted applauded the efforts of his staff and more than 40,000 poll workers.

Gov. John Kasich led a sweep of statewide races by Republicans.
