A jury has acquitted a northeast Ohio pain doctor of all but one of the 27 sexual-misconduct counts filed against him in a case that centered on accusations he improperly touched 11 female patients.

Hudson resident Dr. James Bressi was found guilty of one count of sexual imposition Friday in an Akron courtroom. The charge is a third-degree misdemeanor carrying a maximum penalty of 60 days in jail and a $500 fine. Sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 7.

Bressi faced 13 counts of gross sexual imposition, 12 counts of sexual imposition and two counts of rape. He testified he never improperly touched anyone at his pain clinic near Akron.

Defense attorney Mike Callahan says Bressi is ecstatic he can now go on with his life.
