Leetonia Library kicks off programs for September

LEETONIA

Leetonia Community Public Library, 181 Walnut St., has news to announce.

The A.M. Bookends group starts off September with a meeting at 10 a.m. Wednesday to discuss “Rainwater” by Sandra Brown.

On Sept. 6, the public is invited to a Grandparents’ Day Celebration and Party from noon to 2 p.m. There will be story time, crafts, ice cream and more.

Preschool story time resumes at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Sept. 9.

Later in the month, at 6 p.m. Sept. 26, The Classics group is reading banned classics, from a variety of titles, such as “The Adventures of Tom Sawyer,” The Importance of Being Earnest” and “The Scarlett Letter.”

On the last day of the month, at 6 p.m. Sept. 30, The Nonfiction Book Group will discuss “Days of Destruction, Days of Revolt.” Guests are always welcome.

The library is announcing the winners of the adult/teen gift basket raffles from the summer reading program. Barbara Crook won the barbecue basket, Michael Kidd won the baseball basket and Beth Huffnagle won the Hall china and Fiesta pieces.
