NEW CASTLE, PA.

The Crisis Shelter of Lawrence County will host its seventh annual 5K Walk and 10K Run to benefit victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse at 8:30 a.m. Oct. 11 at Pearson Park in Neshannock Township. The 10K race is a new addition to the event.

Registration begins at 7 a.m. the day of the race. To receive a T-shirt, runners and walkers must be pre-registered by Sept. 30.

Registration forms can be obtained at the crisis shelter office, 1218 W. State St., by calling 724-652-9206 or by visiting https://runsignup.com/Race/PA/NewCastle/fightforzero.

Sponsorship opportunities are still available, and this year, the runners and walkers can become a sponsor themselves at three different levels by giving a special gift.

The shelter empowers and advocates for those affected by domestic violence, sexual assault and other violent crimes by inspiring and educating citizens to create safer communities and break the cycle of violence.
