ASSOCIATIONS

Guilford Lake Civic Association will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Guilford Lake Ruritan Hall, 33554 Ohio 172, Lisbon. The speaker will be Julia Pisansky, development associate of Beatitude House.

Mill Creek Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association will meet at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 9 at A La Cart Catering, 429 Lisbon St., Canfield. The cost of a buffet dinner is $17 per person. Longtime member Katherine Novak will discuss her service on the board of directors of the William Penn Association, a fraternal organization that provides life insurance and annuities. POLITICAL CLUBS

Canfield Republican Women’s Club will have a dinner meeting at 6 p.m. Sept. 3 at A La Cart, 429 Lisbon St., Canfield. The meal will include tossed salad, city chicken, rice, green beans and apple dumpling with ice cream. The cost of the dinner is $15 per person. The guest speaker will be Dr. Eugene Potesta, who will speak about the Affordable Care Act and how it affects doctors as well as patients. Youngstown South Christian Women’s Connection will meet for “A Country Fair” luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sept. 10 at Avion on the Water, 2177 W. Western Reserve Road, Canfield. It will feature a live auction with auctioneer Marty Campana and speaker Gail Alicea of Wilmington, Del., on surviving the “Grand Canyons of Life.” The cost is $13 and includes lunch. Alzheimer Network Family Support Group will meet at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Easter Seals Adult Day Care Center, 721 Boardman-Poland Road, Boardman, and at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Emmanuel Lutheran Education Building, 251 South Broadway Ave., Salem.
