Union will accept applications for apprenticeship

The Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 396 will accept applications for its apprenticeship program starting Sept. 17.

The five-year program includes classes two evenings a week and work during the day.

Applicants must be 18, have a high-school or General Educational Development diploma, transcripts on the day of application, be physically able to perform work of the trade, have a valid driver’s license and be a resident of Mahoning, Trumbull or Columbiana county.

Applications will be accepted from noon to 4 p.m. Sept. 17, Oct. 15, Nov. 19, Dec. 17, Jan. 21, Feb. 18, March 18 and April 15 at 493 Bev Road, Building 3. There is a $45 application fee. For more information, call 330-758-4596 .

Keynote to present 55-Minute Marketing Meeting program

The 55-Minute Marketing Meeting, a new program to assist Valley businesses with marketing strategies, is being presented by Keynote Media Group in downtown Youngstown.

The 2014 meeting schedule is as follows: Aug. 25, Sept. 22, Oct. 27, Nov. 17 and Dec. 15. There are five time slots each day. Interested parties should reserve meeting times by visiting KeynoteCreates.com/55mmm and filling out a brief questionnaire.

YOUNG event is set for Sept. 10-11

YOUNGSTOWN

The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber’s 2014 Youngstown, Ohio Utica and Natural Gas Conference and Expo, YOUNG, returns Sept. 10-11.

The focus of the event is to celebrate the Valley’s manufacturers.

In conjunction with the event there will be a YOUNG golf outing and job fair.

The job fair is open to the public from 9 a.m. to noon Sept. 11 at the Covelli Centre on Front Street.

The business-to-business trade show floor will open at 1 p.m. for registered attendees with the first speaker taking the conference stage at 1:30 p.m. The conference ends at 5 p.m.
