IBEW COUNCIL
Jim Burgham, business manager for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 64 in Youngstown, was appointed to the eight-member IBEW International Executive Council effective this month. He’s the first local officer to ever take this position.
Burgham represents District 3, composed of Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia, Indiana and Michigan. His business-manager role with Local 64 will not change.
The IEC includes seven U.S. districts and one in Canada. Among its duties are matters related to the IBEW’s pension, retirement benefits, constitutional amendments and local union membership matters. Burgham has been an IBEW member for 33 years, including 27 years as an officer and 18 as business manager.
Engineering
Carolyn Kotsol was named the president and chief executive officer of Winner Water Services on Aug. 1. She replaced John Ontiveros, who directed the company’s startup 18 months ago and will return to Battelle Memorial Institute in Columbus.
Winner Water is a joint venture formed in early 2013 by Battelle and Winner. It provides the oil-and-gas industry with treated water for energy recovery using a Battelle-patented filtration process on acid mine drainage from abandoned coal mines that are harmful to their surrounding ecosystems. Kotsol joined Battelle in 2012.
LAW
Harrington, Hoppe & Mitchell announced the addition of Denise Glinatsis Bayer as an associate in the firm. Bayer joined HHM after more than three years in independent practice, where she counseled entrepreneurs, middle-market business owners and nonprofit organizations.
She also previously served as in-house counsel for Cafaro Management Co.
Bayer is also the founder and director of the The Legal Creative, which supports local artists with educational, business and legal resources. She plans to continue in this role. Her practice with HHM will focus on business and nonprofit formation and organization, business transactions and real estate.
REALTY
Klacik Real Estate recently announced that Annette DiVito sold a $1.1 million home in Canfield in late June. DiVito has been a licensed Realtor since 1995 and has experience in residential, multifamily and commercial real estate. DiVito is a member of the Youngstown Columbiana Association of Realtors, Ohio Association of Realtors and the National Association of Realtors.
MEDICINE
Dr. Kelly Colwell of Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley received the Neonatal/Pediatric Respiratory Practitioner of the Year award July 29 at the Ohio State Society for Respiratory Care annual respiratory conference in Columbus. Award nominees were evaluated by the OSRC on their leadership, mentorship, clinical expertise, team building, professionalism and community involvement.

Masters is with the William Brennan Co., which has been representing manufacturers in Canada since 1935. This company has more than 100 years experience.
