Pa. prison duo face new child-sex trafficking counts
PITTSBURGH (AP) — A former inmate and the state prison guard who later became his girlfriend while he served time for a drug offense have been indicted on new charges that they not only forced a 16-year-old runaway girl into prostitution, they allegedly did the same to a 17-year-old boy.
The sordid details of the charges faced by the former inmate, Rasul Abernathy, and the guard, Poshauntaramin Walker, were first revealed in a federal search warrant unsealed in February, a few days after the couple was arrested in Philadelphia.
In a new indictment filed by federal prosecutors in Pittsburgh, the charges involving the underage boy were added.
Abernathy had met Walker when he was serving time February 2007 to September 2008 at the state prison in Greensburg, about 30 mile east of Pittsburgh.
