Boy charged with taking electronic device from Boardman Center Middle School

BOARDMAN — Police arrested a 13-year-old boy after he was accused of stealing a $150 tablet from Boardman Center Middle School on Market Street.

A teacher informed the assistant principal of the theft Tuesday.

The teacher knew the boy had been using the tablet before it went missing. When she realized the electronic device was missing, the teacher had the students, including the boy, look for it.

The tablet was found in the boy’s book bag.

Surveillance video showed the boy putting the tablet in his book bag inside of his locker.

The boy was released to a parent with a note the juvenile court would notify him of a court date.
